HungarianPuli Breed History

There are records that the HungarianPuli dog may be a descendant of the ancient Tibetan dog. The HungarianPuli, or more accurately the HungarianPuli dog, originated in the 10th century and is said to be a descendant of the Sheepdog, which was one of the best conditioned and well-behaved Hungarian sheepdogs of its time. When the Mazars arrived in Hungary, they took some sheepdogs with them. The larger breeds are similar to Kumondo and Kuwait, and the smaller breeds are similar to Pollies. Apart from the color difference, the shape of the Dog and the Tibetan terrier is very similar, which is why it is believed that the basic pedigree of the Dog is from the Tibetan terrier. Used as a sheepdog in Hungary, the dog has been converted into a police dog because of its strong obedience qualities, and the Marza regard it as their companion. Energetic, alert, and active. Its shaggy coat and brisk pace are its most distinctive features, which enable it to successfully complete arduous tasks such as herding sheep on the Plains of Hungary. In the 16th century, the invaders killed many Hungarians. Then, in the 17th century, western Europeans re-entered Hungary, along with their Merino sheep and sheepdogs. The Pollie was a cross between a French and A German shepherd dog to produce the Pomi. The names Polly and Pomi were used interchangeably for years when the breed was virtually extinct. In 1912, Amy Reitsett started a program to develop Polly dogs. In his research, he documented two types of fur in Pollies: thick, shaggy, and curly. The first standard was established in 1915 for the identification of Polly dogs, and it was revised and perfected by FCI in 1924. The newly restored HungarianPuli was shown at the Budapest Dog Show in August 1923. The breed is divided into three categories: the ancestral or hairy working dog, the showy or display dog and the dwarf dog.
